Privacy
What PitReels keeps about you, why, and for how long.
This page is a draft. It hasn’t had a lawyer’s review, and the marked gaps aren’t filled in yet.
Who’s responsible
the company’s legal name and address, and the legal basis for each use below
What we keep
- Your email, username, name and bio, and your password in a form nobody can read.
- The shows you were at, what you like, save and follow, and who follows you.
- If you verify a phone: a fingerprint of the number and its last two digits, never the number itself. We can’t text you.
- The photos and videos you upload, their capture time, and the device and time details in the file. Those details stay private.
- Your profile picture, if you add one: two square copies, with nothing else from the file.
- Which version of the terms you agreed to, and when.
- The internet address you sign in from, to keep accounts safe.
If you ask for an invite
We keep your email and anything you tell us for 90 days, or until you join and later delete your account. We use it only to send you an invite.
Where a photo was taken
Your browser reads the location in a file, rounds it to about 1 km and sends it only to suggest the show. We don’t store it, log it or show it, and we remove the location from the files you upload.
Views
To count a view once a day, we keep a scrambled mark that can’t be traced back to you once the day is over. Nobody can see what you watched.
Cookies and your browser
PitReels sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser remembers your video volume and speed on your own device.
Who else sees it
- Everyone can see your profile and what you share. Saves stay private, and you can keep your shows private in Settings.
- SendGrid sends our emails. Twilio sends and checks phone codes.
- hosting provider, where data is held, and transfers abroad
Deleting
When you delete your account, your profile goes at once. Your photos and videos stay up for 30 days, then your account goes with them and with your likes, saves, follows and shows. Sign in before then to keep everything.
- A placeholder named “Deleted fan” stays, so comments and records keep their place. It holds nothing about you.
- Comments stay only as “removed”, with no text.
- Reports and moderation records stay, with your name taken out.
- Anything held down by a copyright notice stays with the notice.
- Deleted files linger in stored versions for up to 30 days, and in nightly backups until those age out.
Your rights
You can change your details in Settings. To ask for a copy of your data, write to hello@pitreels.com and we’ll answer within a month. rights by region, how to complain, and children’s data
